Januarians & Februarians Celebration

Assalamualaikum,

Its that time again, alhamdulillah! Last week we had our monthly birthday celebration at school and the children sure had a great time.

Celebrating their turning of age is a big deal at school as we want the children to feel special, and at the same time to learn to appreciate Allah's blessing and the value of sharing. We would also like to thank all parents for all the contributed food and goodies, JazakAllah Khairan.

  (Al-Baqarah-2 verse 128)

"Oh Allah! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik, and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful."

LINUS and KSSR

Assalamualaikum.

We have been wanting to write about the new marking standard introduce by the Ministry Of Education (MOE) for the longest time since we first heard it from one of our ex-student's parent, but decided to put it on hold until we truly understand the concept and have done all the researcher regarding it.

To our understanding, LINUS is an screening instrument to gauge the literature and numeracy ability of a child in accordance with the 4M standard (reading, writing, arithmetic, reasoning). Student will be grouped into respective class based on this screening result. Screening will normally take place prior the 1st day or school or within the 1st week of school. Student who do not do well will be placed into a rehab class or kelas pemulihan.  For more information on LINUS, please click here, here and here .

Basically KSSR ( Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah ) focuses on the new approach of teaching where it is not too text book dependent, a new standard of marking where student progress is not based on exams paper but also evaluated by assessment. KSSR will be implemented at all primary school effective 2012.  To better understand what is KSSR and how it effect the education of your children, please click here and here.

We also like to share these link :

We hope the link mention above help in giving a better and clearer picture of LINUS and KSSR.

 Q & A session

Aikido Kids & Swimming Class

Assalamualaikum,

Ahlan wasahlan everyone.

We had our 1st  Aikido Kids trial session last week, alhamdulillah every thing went well. The children had their first go at aikido and they seems to enjoy it very much. Some may ask why Aikido? For us the main reason why we choose aikido instead of other self defense technique available in the market is that aikido does not promote conflict (non aggressive) that uses a harmonious style in redirecting the aggression of the attacker as the form of defense, using throws, pins, rolls etc. It is taught on the premise of disabling an aggressor without attacking, through your individual inner energy and does not involve sparring or competitions.  For more information on Aikido, please click here .

Our swimming classes is held every Saturday at Saujana Impian Golf Club. Children and water is always a fun combination, but too much fun can also be dangerous. The classes is taught by a professional swimming instructor with help by his 2 ladies assistance. Parents are welcome to keep and eye on their love ones during the session. Why swimming is good for your children? Click here for the answer.
