May Birthday Bash

Assalamualaikum,

'All work and no play make Jack a dull boy'. With that quote in mind we celebrate our Mayrians birthday right after we completed the Mid Term Assessment Week, a joyous occasion for all especially for the students. To be honest we totally overlook the birthday celebration as we were so busy with the assessment, but luckily one of the student highlighted it to us (thank you Iman) and we spring into birthday mode right away.

The day started with the usual active movement activities followed by the birthday celebration then up to their classes. But little did the student know that we had planned something special for them. Thank to an unnamed parents (as requested), we receive a sponsored bouncer slider to be used for both of our centers, alhamdulillah. The student were brought down in batches according to their classes and once they saw the bouncer slider they were screaming with joy and smiling ear to ear.

A special shout out to all parents who had contributed all the delicious food and goodies. May Allah repay your kindness and bless you with a prosperous life, amin.

Goofing around when the teachers are not watching.

After all the running, I need some refill .

Mixing at its best.

Teacher's Day Treat.....

Assalamualaikum,

Commonly celebrated on 5th October worldwide, here in Malaysia we celebrate Teacher's Day on 16th May yearly. Teachers are a significant part of everyone's life. They show us the right path and groom us to become a better person. They teach us to face the most difficult challenges of life and get through them, easily. Teacher's Day is normally celebrated to pay tribute to teachers, who have dedicated a considerable part of their life to impart moral and academic knowledge to their students.

It was a pleasant surprise for us to be greeted with gift after gift from our student, jazakallah haiyan. A special day indeed. We decided to return the favor by surprising our student with something new, something that we never did before that will definitely guarantees a good time all-around.

Today especially for Nur Khalifah Kindergarten's student, we had a ' Healthy Chocolate Ice Cream Making' day. Easy peasy kitchen utensil, simple but healthy ingredient, lots of shaking and taa daa instant ice-cream for everyone. Tasty and delicious treat handmade in less then 10 minutes.

Dutch Lady Chocolate milk check. Ice check. Salt check.

Add condense milk for that extra kick and gently stir the mixture.

And now we shake

And shake and shake

Spoon up everyone.. ice-cream time!

Worlds cannot describe how grateful we are. Jazakaallah haiyan.

Not your average assessment :)

Assalamualaikum,

Our 2012 Mid Term Assessment went smoothly, alhamdulillah.  The students were at ease answering all the question, some able to answer it as soon as they open up the papers, and some needed a little guidance.

We transform the main hall to an assessment hall for the 6 year old, so that they could experience the 'feel' of assessment  just like any ordinary primary 1 classes, meanwhile the 5 years old and the 4 years old sat in their respective classes for the assessment. Even tho it was assessment week, the student seems to be very calm and relaxed.

The assessment is created to act merely as an evaluation of what the student had grasp during their studies here, for us to know how much they understood the topic presented. This also act as a guidelines to prepare them for primary 1 later when they graduate, in-accordance with Ministry Of Education's standard. Student are allowed to ask the teachers should they need further clarification and also allowed to take as much time as they want to, some even took 2 days to complete one paper (hence the repeated written names on the paper) .

Here are some photos taken during the week.

Hmm lets see..

Piece of pie

When in doubt, lets refer to the wall!

Stop and pose ..

One in my head plus two in my fingers...

Pants folded up to my knees..

Getting ready..

Piece of cake...

" Oh Allah, open my heart ... "

Pretending to be scared..

The "no one told me anything about assessment ! " look.. :)

Here we go..

Cool, calm and collected.
